Once you have completed the addiction treatment and recovery program and have returned home to your community, your journey to complete recovery is just getting started. It is important that you participate in an aftercare program. An aftercare program will enable you to continue recovering from your addiction so that you are able to deal with the pressures and stresses of everyday living. This puts you at far less risk of relapsing back into your addiction.

Additionally, there are a number of different aftercare programs to choose from, such as AA and NA (Narcotics Anonymous). Depending on the program you enroll in, you may have to attend either daily or weekly support meetings as well as group or individual sessions. The idea behind any of these aftercare programs is to provide you with certain tasks that you must perform and a support structure for progressing through the process.
